At North Star SEND Specialist, inclusion is at the heart of everything I do. With over 20 years of experience as a teacher, Deputy Headteacher, SENCO, Specialist Teacher and SEND Consultant, I bring both strategic expertise and practical classroom knowledge to every piece of work.
I believe that the best outcomes are achieved when schools, families and professionals work together. My approach is collaborative, child-centred and strengths-focused, ensuring that recommendations are realistic, meaningful and tailored to the individual needs of each child and setting.
Unlike generic consultancy, all support is personalised and grounded in current research, the SEND Code of Practice and Department for Education guidance. Whether working with an individual child, supporting a family, developing staff confidence or reviewing whole-school provision, my focus is always on creating sustainable change that improves outcomes and builds inclusive communities where every learner can flourish.

⭐ Find Your Direction
Cognitive Learning Profile, Psychometric Assessment & Specialist Report
Every child learns differently. This specialist assessment provides a detailed understanding of how a child thinks, learns and accesses education. Using psychometric assessment, professional observations and collaborative discussions with families and school staff, I create a clear picture of strengths, barriers and learning needs. The resulting report provides practical, evidence-informed recommendations that support meaningful progress in both school and home environments, helping everyone involved understand how best to support the child’s success.
More than identifying areas of need, this assessment celebrates a child’s unique strengths and potential. The insights gained help families and schools make informed decisions, build confidence and implement effective strategies that enable children to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Together, we create a clear pathway forward with personalised support tailored to the child’s individual learning journey.
Throughout the process, I work closely with parents, carers, school staff and, where appropriate, the child themselves to ensure every voice is heard. By bringing together perspectives from home and school, we develop a shared understanding of the child’s needs and create recommendations that are practical, achievable and meaningful for everyone involved.

Sensory Preferences Assessment
A child’s sensory preferences can have a significant impact on learning, behaviour, participation and emotional wellbeing. Through observations, questionnaires and collaborative discussions with parents, staff and the child, I develop a holistic understanding of how sensory differences may be influencing everyday experiences at home and in school.
This assessment helps identify sensory patterns, potential triggers and environmental factors that may be affecting engagement, regulation and access to learning. Recommendations are tailored to the individual child and designed to be practical, achievable and easily implemented across different settings.
Working together with families and school staff, we create a shared understanding of the child’s needs and explore supportive strategies that promote comfort, confidence and participation. The aim is to help children feel understood, supported and better equipped to thrive in their daily environments.

⭐Leading Inclusion
Whole-School Inclusion Review, Strategy & Development Framework
Inclusion is about more than meeting statutory requirements. It is about creating a culture where every child feels valued, every member of staff feels empowered and every family feels welcomed. This pathway supports schools to strengthen inclusive practice across the whole school, ensuring high-quality provision is embedded within everyday teaching and learning.
Working alongside headteachers, SENCOs, governors and leadership teams, I undertake a comprehensive review of your current provision, helping identify strengths, priorities and opportunities for development. Together, we create a practical roadmap that strengthens universal provision, improves outcomes and supports the needs of all learners, including those with emerging needs who may not have an EHCP or formal diagnosis.
Rather than producing a report that sits on a shelf, schools receive a bespoke Whole-School Inclusion Review & Development Framework. This working document provides a clear evaluation of current practice, prioritised next steps and realistic actions that support continuous improvement, helping leaders build sustainable systems that promote inclusion at every level of school life.
